We’ve relocated the website to a new location. With the move, a couple of things have changed:

• There’s much more space for pictures available
• The forums will become a blog. (You’re reading it now.) This will allow for a couple of different things:
  • (1) People with news readers or the firefox web browser can get automatic updates.
  • (2) People can comment directly on the items that interest them.
  • (3) Information posted will be more ‘findable’ online overall once it’s indexed
  • (4) Registration for commenting won’t be needed (Administrative users will still need to be registered.)
• There’s a new guestbook. The posts from the old one have been archived and will be re-added to the new one for legacy purposes.

Everything should be working properly before the weekend. (This mainly means adding Paula as an administrator to everything, so she can keep up the wonderful work she has been doing for all this time.
If you happen to find something that’s broken, please email Richard so He can get it fixed ASAP.

Addendum: Paula is once again installed as adminstrator, and has already been busy adding several pictures to the site!

A. Many people have participated in making this web site. Paula Kilgore currently volunteers a great deal of her time keeping the site up-to-date and adding pictures shared by our wonderful members. Jimmy Stacy was instrumental in the first site, and is a regular contributor. Richard Hubbard provides for hosting and design, and still helps out from time to time when Paula gets out the whip.

The Board of Directors and our members decide on the general content and direction of the site.

A: Yes.

• This policy provides coverage for club (SCRHA) activities. Participant Legal Liability and Spectator Liability are covered.
• Reining, barrel racing, team penning and team roping are included. However, racing and rodeos are excluded.
• Professional Liability coverage is excluded.
• Officers, club members, and volunteers are covered WHILE PARTICIPATING IN CLUB ACTIVITIES and acting under the direction of any club officer, director, or manager.

A: The annual meeting mentioned in the bylaws is a common feature of incorporated entities. It doesn’t mean that this is the only meeting that members MAY have; however, it is the only meeting they MUST have.

The law in most states mandates an actual meeting of the voting membership annually, and require this ‘annual meeting’ to be set forward in the articles of incorporation. Groups as diverse as the local telephone cooperative and civic groups, as well as multinationals, operate under the premise of an annual membership meeting.

Our member meetings, along with riding opportunities, will be posted here on The Hitching Post.

A: Yes. An association is an organized body of people who have an interest, activity, or purpose in common. As of January 2004, our Incorporation status was approved by the State of Virginia.

We are also a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The CPA who aided us in this is David Jackson of David Jackson and Associates, P.C. The lawyer aiding us is Sherry Lee Wilson of Nickelsville, Virginia.
